    How much Shea Butter is really in your skincare products?

    Shea butter products are appearing more and more on the high street. I often hear people say “less is more”, but this is not the case when talking about Shea butter. For Shea butter skincare products to offer the most benefit and healing to your skin, products with the most Shea Butter content are the best.

    There are really only two types of Shea Butter skincare products;

    1. Shea Butter Based Products

    2. Raw Shea Butter Products

    1. Shea Butter-Based Products

    These products contain less than 5% of Shea Butter and usually contain the words “Shea Butter” simply for marketing purposes. These type of products may offer mild benefit and healing to the skin, they will not provide healing for skin conditions such as stretch marks, eczema, psoriasis, and tough dry skin.

    2. Raw Shea Butter Products

    This type of Shea Butter products contains 95-100% Raw Shea Butter. The products in the second category deliver greater benefits and healing effects to the skin unlike the watered-down Shea Butter-based products. This category also produces greater antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It moisturizes the skin and helping to heal conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and acne.

    So, buyers be sure to read the label of your products to ensure that you are receiving high quality skin care. Just because the front of your skin care container reads the words “Shea Butter” on it, it does not mean Shea Butter is one of the main ingredients, more often than not the main ingredient is water. Be sure to use 100% Raw Shea Butter products for your skin care needs.
